  • journal: trying to fix my one recurring mistake, overtrading
    J Justin 0

a trade cap treats the symptom. youll hit your two trades early on a boring day then sit there twitching, and within a month youll quietly raise it to three because a setup was right there. caps slip when the underlying boredom and fomo arent addressed. the number isnt the cure, the impulse is the problem.

  • the 90% lose stat, is it the brokers fault or ours
    J Justin 0

this thread is the 90% trying to figure out why theyre the 90%

    Trading Discussion psychology

  • moving from retail to a prime-of-prime setup, actually worth it for an individual
    J Justin 0

ninety percent of individuals asking about prime-of-prime want the business card, not the liquidity. if your retail ecn is genuinely the bottleneck on your returns youd know exactly why, not be asking a forum whether its worth it.

  • vpn for trading, actually necessary or just paranoia
    J Justin 0

vpn for trading is mostly people opening accounts in jurisdictions they shouldnt and hoping the broker wont notice. theyll notice when you try to withdraw. then suddenly vpn isnt enough.

  • candlestick patterns alone, sufficient or context-only
    J Justin 0

candlestick patterns were created by a 17th century rice trader and the whole industry pretends his patterns translate perfectly to algorithmic forex markets. they dont. they're partial relics.

    Strategies & Systems

  • triangles and flags, which continuation patterns do you actually trust
    J Justin 0

triangles break both ways because you can draw a triangle on literally any consolidation if you pick your trendlines generously enough. half the triangles people trade are just range-bound chop with two lines imposed on them to feel like a setup. the pattern is often invented by the trader, not present in the market.

    Forex Patterns continuation

  • trend following vs mean reversion, does it come down to personality
    J Justin 0

the personality-fit talk becomes an excuse to never master the discipline either style actually requires. cant sit through trend follow drawdowns, blame personality. wont cut mean reversion losers, blame personality. both styles need the exact discipline you lack and personality is the comfortable story for avoiding building it.

    Strategies

  • after years of trading, has how you use stops evolved or stayed the same
    J Justin 0

every experienced trader says always use a hard stop until the one who quietly runs mental stops and brags about avoiding stop-hunts, right up until the gap that takes half their account. the graveyard is full of experienced traders who decided the rules were for beginners.

  • dukascopy swiss reliability premium - is it worth the rougher UX?
    J Justin 0

swiss bank yes very secure. then their JForex platform crashes during nfp and you cant close. enjoy the safety.

  • is technical analysis still useful in 2026
    J Justin 0

TA works until it doesnt. like every other tool. people just love to make it a religion.

    Trading Discussion

  • head and shoulders, how often does it actually play out for you in practice
    J Justin 0

the neckline break that reverses straight back is the market filling stops below an obvious neckline everyone drew identically. youre trading the most telegraphed level on the chart, of course it gets faded. the pattern is so famous its become a liquidity map for the people on the other side.

  • ctrader vs mt5 for serious algo traders in 2026
    J Justin 0

stay on mt5. ctrader is for hipsters. the rest of the world runs mql4/mql5 ecosystem. why limit yourself.

  • supply and demand zones - still working for you in 2026?
    J Justin 0

supply/demand is the same horoscope sold to a new generation. its support and resistance with extra steps and a coaching course.

    Strategies & Systems

  • ftmo new rule changes for swing traders 2026 - reading the fine print
    J Justin 0

this is why prop firms suck. they change rules whenever they want, you adapt or get rekt. just trade your own money.

    Prop Firms

  • blackbull markets nz regulated, real experience
    J Justin 0

every 'new' broker that gets visibility is because they paid a lot for marketing. blackbull is paying. quality might be ok but be skeptical of viral momentum.

    Forex Brokers regulation

  • saxo bank for retail trader, worth the premium pricing
    J Justin 0

had saxo classic account for 4 years before moving to a hybrid setup. their execution is institutional grade, customer service is excellent, platform is information-dense and rewards experienced users. but for pure forex trading the premium isnt justified vs say ic markets unless you also trade equities and bonds in the same account.
