pre-defining the kill threshold from backtested worst-case is the only way to do this without emotion. if your max historical drawdown was, say, x, then a drawdown approaching but not exceeding x is expected and you hold. exceeding it meaningfully is your signal to pause and investigate. the number has to be set when youre calm, because in the drawdown every instinct screams to either panic-quit or stubbornly hope, and both are wrong without the pre-set line.

how do you know when a mechanical system is actually broken vs just in drawdown -
pushing through a long flat period without blowing up everything that worksthe breakeven stretch is psychologically harder than a drawdown because theres no clear villain, just grinding nothing. the trap is manufacturing a problem to solve so you feel productive. resist it. a flat period on a real edge is statistically expected, markets dont pay your strategy on a schedule. doing nothing different is often the highest-skill move available.

blackbull markets nz regulated, real experienceblackbull markets has been getting more visibility in 2025-2026. NZ FMA regulated, hong kong entity for asian clients. their pricing on the ECN account is competitive (raw spread + commission per lot).
curious about real trader experiences. NZ regulation is less common in forex broker discussions so wanted to ask: is FMA oversight comparable to FCA/ASIC, or is it lighter?

lcg london capital group, anyone trading with them currentlyFCA is meaningfully better in two ways: FSCS deposit protection up to 85k GBP per client (real money back if broker fails), and consumer-facing dispute resolution through FOS that has actual teeth. CySEC has compensation up to 20k EUR which is less. ASIC has reasonable consumer protection too. FCA tops the list for retail consumer recovery if things go wrong.
