  • smartprop trader 2026, anyone passed their eval
    asherwoodA asherwood

smartprop trader has been advertising heavily in 2026 with a 'consistency-focused' evaluation model. their pitch: pass eval by demonstrating risk management over 30 days rather than just hitting profit target.

on paper this favors serious traders over gamblers. but ive read mixed reviews about their funded account rules.

anyone passed their eval and traded funded with them?

  • monex group japan, anyone outside japan use them
    asherwoodA asherwood

the 25:1 leverage cap actually forced me to think about position sizing properly when i tried a japanese broker. retail traders accustomed to 500:1 leverage become much more disciplined when its restricted. educational side effect.

  • blackbull markets nz regulated, real experience
    asherwoodA asherwood

similar in concept but different in scale and approach. ASIC is larger, more prescriptive, has compensation scheme. NZ FMA is smaller, principle-based regulation, has investor protection framework but smaller compensation fund. both legitimate. ASIC slightly stronger consumer protections, NZ FMA more flexible on operational details. for major brokers operating under both, the quality is comparable.

  • tradeo socialised trading platform, is copy trading worth doing
    asherwoodA asherwood

'already profitable' is the trap. someone profitable for 6 months might be lucky, not skilled. survivorship bias means we only see the winners on leaderboards, not the dozens who blew up. by the time someone's been profitable for 3 years they often start taking more risk because of pressure from new followers, then blow up. its a structural problem not a copier problem.

  • saxo bank for retail trader, worth the premium pricing
    asherwoodA asherwood

saxo has positioned themselves as the premium broker option: high min deposit, higher spreads than competitors, but proper bank-grade regulation in denmark plus deposit insurance.

for retail traders putting $25-50k to work, is saxo actually better in any meaningful way, or are you just paying more for the brand and same execution as a tier 2 broker?
