on demo im consistently green and calm. switch the exact same strategy to a small live account and i fall apart, exit winners early, hold losers, hesitate on good setups and then chase bad ones. same charts, same rules, completely different me. why does going live break people like this and how do you fix it?

demo has no real loss aversion because the money isnt real, so you trade your plan cleanly. live, every tick is real pain or real gain and your brain switches from rational planning to threat response. its not a strategy failure, its that demo never trained the emotional muscle. the fix isnt more demo, its going live with stakes so small the emotion is manageable, then scaling up slowly as you prove you can hold your plan with real money.

the trade-stakes-you-dont-care-about point is everything. most people go live with an amount thats meaningful to them, which maximises the emotion exactly when theyre least equipped to handle it. start with an amount so small that losing it all is genuinely irrelevant to your life. youll trade like demo again, and you increase only when the current size stops triggering you. graduate the emotion deliberately.

demo profitable means nothing because demo removed the only hard part, which is you. trading is ninety percent managing your own reaction to real money and demo trains zero percent of that. people brag about demo results that are basically a video game high score.

the troll is right that demo trains the easy ten percent and skips the hard ninety. demo still has value for learning mechanics and validating a strategys logic, but it cannot teach emotional execution, which is the actual skill that pays. thats why tiny live is the missing bridge, it reintroduces the emotion at a survivable dose. demo proves the plan can work, small live teaches you to run it as a human.

alongside small stakes, mechanise the decisions the emotion attacks. set your stop and target at entry and dont touch them, so the panic has nothing to act on. the live breakdown shows up exactly in the discretionary moments, moving stops, exiting early. remove the discretion during the trade and predefine everything, and the emotional self has far fewer levers to pull. small size plus predefined exits is the combination that holds.

tiny live to train the emotion, predefine exits so panic cant act.
