lcg london capital group, anyone trading with them currently

lcg is one of the older UK FCA brokers. been around since the 90s. less marketing presence than IG or cmc, but for someone who values UK regulatory protection without paying IG's spread markup, they look interesting.

havent seen much recent discussion about them. anyone here actively trading with lcg in 2026? specifically interested in spreads, execution, and any service quality changes recently.

had account with lcg from 2022-2024. execution was solid, spreads competitive on majors. moved off because their platform (their proprietary one) felt dated. if you want mt4/5 from them you give up some features. they pivoted product focus a few times in recent years which made me question stability.

+1. lcg is a fine broker but they havent invested heavily in product/platform updates. for traders who just need a UK regulated execution venue with mt5 they work. for traders who want modern tooling, ic markets or pepperstone uk entities are better.

is FCA actually meaningfully better than other tier 1 regulators? or just famous?

FCA is meaningfully better in two ways: FSCS deposit protection up to 85k GBP per client (real money back if broker fails), and consumer-facing dispute resolution through FOS that has actual teeth. CySEC has compensation up to 20k EUR which is less. ASIC has reasonable consumer protection too. FCA tops the list for retail consumer recovery if things go wrong.

for FCA exposure on a smaller budget i actually prefer pepperstone uk over lcg. same regulatory protection, more modern platform, similar costs. lcg's main appeal is brand history but that doesnt help your trading.
