roboforex has been around for years but ive heard mixed things about their reliability for serious capital. their prime account claims ECN execution with raw spreads + commission.

for traders running real size: how is their actual execution? specifically interested in slippage during NFP, withdrawal speed for amounts over $5k, and customer service quality if something goes wrong.

had a prime account for 2 years before consolidating. execution is decent during normal market hours, less impressive during high impact news. NFP slippage averaged 1.2 pips on stops which is higher than ic markets but acceptable. withdrawals to wise typically 24-48h.

roboforex is fine for trading volumes under $50k notional. above that the execution quality matters more and id move to a tier 1 broker. their offshore IFSC regulation is the limiting factor for larger capital, not the execution itself.

@newbie ECN = Electronic Communications Network. theoretically your trades are matched against other market participants directly, with the broker just facilitating. in practice many retail 'ECN' brokers still internally aggregate before sending to liquidity providers, but the spreads tend to be tighter than market-maker accounts. think of it as 'closer to interbank pricing' not 'directly trading interbank'.

retail ecn is marketing. true ecn requires direct connection to interbank which costs thousands monthly. what you get on roboforex is 'better than market maker' which is fine but not actually ecn.
