is tradingview premium actually worth it or is free fine for forex

thinking about paying for tradingview but the tiers add up. for pure forex, mostly swing and some intraday, is the paid plan giving me anything i genuinely need or is the free version enough if i can live with a couple ads and fewer indicators per chart?

for swing forex specifically the free tier is genuinely fine for a long time. the paid features that matter are more indicators per chart, multiple charts in one layout, and second-based timeframes. swing traders rarely need any of those. pay when you hit a concrete wall, not preemptively.

agree. the one free limitation that annoys people is indicator count per chart. if you run more than a couple studies at once youll hit it. but for clean price-action swing trading thats a feature not a bug, fewer indicators usually helps.

i paid for two years before realising i used maybe one premium feature multiple layouts. everything else was vanity. cancelled, barely noticed the difference for my style.

to close the loop for the original poster: start free, and the day you find yourself genuinely blocked, upgrade one tier. dont buy the top plan because of feature fomo. for swing forex the free charts are already better than most paid platforms from a decade ago.
