honest review thread, post your real experience with any prop firm
-
mine is a positive. been with one of the older established firms for over a year, passed evaluation once, multiple payouts, withdrawals landed in the stated window every time. nothing exciting to report, which is exactly what you want from a prop firm. boring and reliable. the older firms earned their reputation by being unremarkable in the best way.

every one of these threads fills up with 'i got funded and paid' from people who then quietly fail their next account and never update. survivorship in real time. the honest version includes everyone who paid a fee, failed, and learned nothing, which is most of the volume and never posts.

fair, so here is the unglamorous full picture from me: i failed four challenges across two firms before i passed one, total fees a real chunk of money. the firm that funded me did pay. but if i count all the fees against all the payouts, im only modestly ahead, and the difference was finally bringing a tested edge, not picking the right firm. include the failures or the thread lies by omission.

same core strategy, different risk management. my failed attempts werent strategy problems, they were me pushing too hard to hit the target fast and breaching drawdown. the pass came when i traded smaller and accepted taking the full evaluation period rather than rushing. the firm didnt change, my pacing did. most evaluation failures i see are pace and risk, not strategy.

the rushing-to-target failure is so common it should be a warning on every challenge. people treat the profit target as a sprint and breach drawdown trying to hit it in days. trading it as a slow, low-risk grind over the full window passes far more often. pace kills more evaluations than lack of skill.

to add a data point on payouts specifically: my withdrawals from an established firm took two to four business days to the original method each time, no drama. the horror stories i see are concentrated in newer firms and in people who broke a rule and got denied, not in the older firms paying routine withdrawals. age and rule-compliance explain most outcomes.

notice the pattern forming in this very thread, established firm plus didnt break rules plus had an edge equals paid. new firm plus rushed plus no edge equals lost the fee. the firm is rarely the variable, you are.

every other review source only shows the funded screenshots. seeing the four-fails-then-pass reality is what i actually needed.
