cynical but directionally correct, the offer is a retention and volume tool, not charity. the clean way to use it: if your normal trading already clears the threshold, take the free vps and enjoy it. if it doesnt, pay for an independent vps and keep your trading decisions free of any volume incentive. never let infrastructure perks steer your trade frequency.

brokers dont give you a free vps out of kindness, they give it to you because traders who keep their terminal running and chase volume targets lose money faster. youre not the customer of the free vps, youre the product it farms.

exactly the trap. do the math: a vps is cheap. if the volume needed to earn it for free makes you trade even slightly more than your strategy dictates, youre paying in spread and bad trades to save a small fixed cost. only take the deal if you would naturally hit that volume anyway without changing your behaviour.

the broker vps is usually genuinely fine technically, often its a resold slice from a real provider colocated near their server, so latency is great. the real catch is the condition: the volume requirement can quietly push you to overtrade just to keep a free perk worth a few dollars a month. if you find yourself taking marginal trades to hit the volume threshold, the free vps is costing you far more than paying for one would.
